What is Oral Surgery?
While we always try to use the least invasive treatment possible for any given dental problem, sometimes, the less-invasive approach isn't possible and surgery is necessary.
Oral surgery includes both diagnosing and surgically treating diseases, injuries, and defects of the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, teeth and jaws.
At Beaverbrook Dental, tooth extractions and dental implant restorations are two of our most commonly performed oral surgeries.
Tooth Extractions
While it's always better to save a natural tooth, there are cases where that's not possible and an extraction is necessary due to damage, gum disease, or tooth decay. Our Fredericton dentists only perform simple tooth extractions. If your tooth extraction is complex, we will refer you to an oral surgeon.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that functions like a tooth root. At Beaverbrook Dental, we specialize solely in implant restorations, offering dental crowns after your implants have been placed by a specialist. If our dentist thinks you need a dental implant surgery, we will refer you to a specialist.
